2024 Volunteer Applications are now closed.
Terrafranta has been welcoming volunteers from all over the world since 2021 – their efforts have been crucial to the development of Terrafranta and we hope to continue hosting volunteers for many years to come.
As a volunteer, you will be involved in a variety of tasks and projects such as:
- – Vegetable gardening
- – Lavender harvesting
- – DIY/Carpentry
- – Beekeeping
- – Events at the farm
- *NEW – Social Media Content Creation
Experience is welcome but not necessary, you will receive the training required to engage in the tasks at hand. All we need from you is enthusiasm and eagerness to learn (and no fear of getting your clothes dirty!). You can expect to work 25 hours a week, usually spread out over 5 days. You will always have two consecutive days off.
Above all, we are looking for people who are able to work independently and can take initiative. We expect people to work hard and get dirty, that is the reality of working the land. We trust volunteers to act with awareness and understand their strengths and limitations, asking for help when needed and operate in support of our community.
Food and accommodation will be provided, as well as free access to all of the events taking place during your stay. You won’t need a car whilst here as we are ideally located a 15min bus ride from the centre of Florence – in your free time, you can relax at the farm, practice yoga on our wooden platform, explore the city, discover Tuscany, go to the seaside, the possibilities are endless!
We place a lot of emphasis on collaboration, attention and care for the process, guided by the notion that everything is interconnected and so are we – as humans and animals, to the planet and to each other.
Our home is open to all those who are actively engaged in the unlearning of the many harmful dynamics that pervade our society. Discrimination, hate or violence of any sort will not be tolerated.
